Only through art can we step outside ourselves, know what another sees of this universe that is not the same as ours - Marcel Proust
Véronique Colin, a French artist based in Toulon, has been exploring different artistic techniques for several years, after starting out as a freelance graphic designer. With a degree in visual communications, she has gradually made artistic creation a central part of her life. Her work, often focusing on anonymous characters and moments in life, offers a marked graphic simplification, inviting viewers to imagine their own interpretation.
Véronique Colin's work draws its inspiration from everyday gestures, luminous atmospheres and shared emotions. Her creative process begins with meticulous preparation: photographs, visual research and image processing to adjust light and color. Working mainly in acrylics, she deconstructs and reconstructs forms through flat tints of color, rendering her figures anonymous and devoid of context. Influenced by Picasso, Véronique likes to leave room for ambiguity in her work, allowing each viewer to create their own story and experience a personal emotion.
