Everyday hardworking, reading, drawing, studying, searching and challenging these are the “obvious secrets” of success in art.
Gevorg was born in the Armenian city of Vanadzor and trained in the theory and techniques of sculpture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Yerevan, from which he graduated with honours from the jury in 2011. While he was still a student, he was hired as a sculptor by the National Academy of Opera, Ballet and Theatre to work enthusiastically on the creation of numerous sets for shows. In addition to this work, which he still carries out today, in 2013 he was appointed Professor of Art at the National Center of Aesthetics in Yerevan. In addition, Gevorg has been a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia and the Union of Artists of UNESCO since 2015. Between allegory and realism, figurines and monumental subjects, the artist strives to translate all the ambivalence and complexity of human nature with gentleness and humility.
This artist is passionate about metalworking and produces each of his works using the "lost wax casting" technique, a process that consists of obtaining a sculpture from a plaster casting, by means of a wax replica that melts when in contact with the molten metal. This practice allows Gevorg to produce parts with a high degree of precision. This is essential for the development of his production, which itself is characterised by sensitivity and poetry. "An inexhaustible source of inspiration and motivation", it is life itself that gives Gevorg the breath he needs to satisfy his thirst for creation. Thus, his personal development resonates permanently with the evolution of the world around him, nourishing both his works and his thoughts.
