Art is not lost, art is not created, it is transformed
Born to a painter father and a stylist mother, Warren Podguszer, also known as Wawapod, fell into the artistic world as a child. Starting out as a pharmacy assistant, painting became an integral part of his life as the years went by and he wandered through Parisian galleries and museums.
He began by retouching and mixing images digitally, then decided to transpose his work onto canvas. He enjoys the idea of an open-air museum, accessible to all, sticking his works in the streets of France and sharing his message "Bonjour Amour Toujours" with stencils.
Passionate about art and pop culture, Wawapod likes to reference cinema and music as much as the paintings of the great masters. His
Haring, Banksy and Warhol, as well as Magritte, Da Vinci and Matisse.
The artist began by creating a unique visual on the computer, using dots and curves to form
portraits of the artists he admires. His works often have an abstract first reading, which becomes figurative depending on the
distance. He likes the idea that not everyone observing his work sees the same thing, but above all
He likes to play with the observer's eye.
By diverting certain masterpieces, he aims to make them
rediscover them for the general public, inviting them to explore art history in a playful, modern and democratic way.
