Artists are like dog groomers, you need them. You don't need them, but you need them.
Born in 1964, Alfredo Lopez is a Bolivian-born artist who grew up in Spain before moving to Paris. Today, he lives and works near Chartres. His artistic career began in carefree times, with a vocation for freedom and sincerity. After working in advertising for fifteen years, he devoted himself fully to painting. His works, characterized by vivid colors and central characters, are narratives of everyday life, translating his neo-punk and benevolent sensibility.
Alfredo Lopez draws his inspiration from the simple moments of everyday life, which he transcribes with vivid colors and imposing figures. His meticulously constructed works are allegories of joy and good humor. Influenced by music, from Peggy Lee to Poly Styrene, Alfredo prefers to remain sincere rather than follow commercial trends. He mixes matte and gloss to bring his paintings to life. His creations are windows onto our daily lives, revealing the beauty of insignificant acts performed with happiness. Alfredo's message is to enjoy life, because there will always be something left of it.
