Lau Blou | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

  • Lau Blou | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography
Lau Blou
Let the unconscious guide me, give voice to colors and lights to express my emotions. Thanks to that I let go to let my creativity run free.
Lau Blou is a painter specializing in abstract art. At 55, she lives surrounded by nature, on the shores of Lac d'Aiguebelette, an environment that nourishes her inspiration and emotions. After a career in graphic design, she turned to painting to freely express her passion for color and form. Her work, marked by the use of paper, acrylics, oil pastels and gold leaf, is exhibited in France and abroad.
Lau Blou finds her inspiration in a variety of fields, such as modern architecture, coastal landscapes and fashion, for their colors and textures. An admirer of Rothko, Soulages and Dominic Besner, she creates works that blend graphic forms and vaporous backgrounds. She works by superimposing layers of paint, collage and transparency to achieve harmonious, energetic compositions. Her abstract art, with no imposed message, leaves the viewer free to escape and feel, offering moments of calm or imaginary journeys.
