Minimalism by Aurélie

INTERVIEW

How long have you been working at Carré d’artistes?
I joined Carré d'artistes 8 years ago now, as part of the artistic team. I am now Director of the art department, my team and I have the chance to accompany the artists of the network through their exhibitions in our galleries.

What do you like the most about your work?
Art has always been present in me, like a path in the background. I have a rather particular relationship with Beauty, a relationship that is constantly evolving.
Carré d'artistes has revealed my artistic ambitions. To evolve in contact with the artists that we exhibit, but also with passionate teams, to learn, exchange, share, is a real chance.

How did you take your first steps in the world of contemporary art?
Memories of pictorial readings come back to me from my childhood, initiations that I try to transmit today to my own children, to arouse an interest in Art that they can choose to develop later.

An anecdote to share with us, something you will never forget?
If we consider that we all have a path, Carré d'artistes will have allowed me to meet key people, who played a crucial role in my own artistic development, which I express today through photography.

An artist from Carré d’artistes whose work you particularly like?
This question is complex! Obviously I am touched by many of them, sometimes by their work, their approach, and sometimes by the human being behind the artist. Carré d'artistes is a passion project, and strong relationships are formed with the artists.
But I must mention here Daniel Reymann, who has a special place in my eyes, as much on the artistic level as on the human level. His graphic, minimalist and random work echoes and refers to my definition of Beauty.

If you had to describe Carré d’artistes in 3 words:
Exciting, Bubbling and Captivating.
Carré d'artistes is a great idea, a strong project, which places Art and human beings at the center of a wonderful round of exchanges and sharing. A project which arrives at its 20 years and still swarms of thousand ideas, thousand passions, it is an immense joy that to be part of it and to be actor of it.

Why do you think art is important?
It is a breath! A concentrate of emotion, a familiar feeling, a desire to escape or an inner reflection. Art can bring so much to each one of us, to cherish it and to make discover it is an incredible wealth.
