Moulia Francis
Painting nature not as it is, but as we would like it to be - Camille Corot
Francis Moulia, an eclectic artist, explores a variety of techniques and styles in his work. A graduate in applied arts, he finds in painting a means of expression free from digital constraints. His artistic approach is characterized by the use of the glazing technique, creating works with subtle, deep effects. Francis seeks to capture timelessness and leave an element of uncertainty in his paintings, offering viewers freedom of interpretation.
François Moulia draws inspiration from A. Gide's quote: "Let the importance be in your gaze, not in the thing looked at", to guide his artistic approach. He uses the often-forgotten glazing technique to create a variety of works ranging from landscapes to abstract compositions. His influences include a wide range of styles, which is reflected in the diversity of his creations. François makes it a point of honor to leave the viewer with some room for personal reflection by incorporating visual uncertainty.
