Frank Hérété received training at the prestigious school of illustration, Emile Cohl, and worked for eighteen years as artistic director for a communications firm. In 2013, he decided to devote himself entirely to painting and his extensive experience with oil paintings pointed him towards figuration. He then discovered watercolours and became one of the most prolific painters in the region of Lyon. His work as a portraiture has won him many awards. He mainly paints outside, often on the banks of the Saône. In his on-going search for new subjects, he fills many research notebooks, notes many details in the moment, and tirelessly sublimates his city in works that are overflowing with life.
