Color, above all and perhaps even more than drawing, is a liberation. Henri Matisse
Émilie is a talented contemporary French artist specializing in natural landscapes. A passionate child, she loves to contemplate nature in photo albums. After graduating with a baccalaureate in fine art and studying at the Beaux-Arts, she decided to go to business school. During her studies, she spent a year in Mexico, where she rethought her relationship with the environment, art and color. Much later, she returned to painting and, in 2022, was awarded a residency at 59 Rivoli in Paris. Since then, Émilie has exhibited regularly in France and found her audience in Europe and Asia.
Behind the horizon of her vibrant landscapes, Émilie is an artist sensitive to the colors of nature and the emotions they can convey. The adventure begins with a panorama and a photograph. After a few sketches, she reinterprets the scene, refining and simplifying it, keeping only the essence and atmosphere that emerge. Her fluid, dynamic style is characterized by flat, vivid hues that illustrate details, lights and shadows, without gradation or blending. Like a reflection of the vastness of the wilderness, the artist works on large canvases using extra-fine acrylic paint. Inspired by the environment, she also admires the works of Matisse, Hockney and Rousseau. With her elegant, poetic vision, Émilie takes us on a journey through her natural landscapes, which we contemplate with serenity and fascination.
