A quote from Paul Klee: "Art does not reproduce the visible, it makes visible."
Michèle Loussouarn, an artist living in Eastern France, expresses her creativity through drawing, watercolor, painting and sculpture. A graduate in plastic arts, she has combined her teaching career with her passion for artistic creation. Since 2009, she has devoted herself mainly to nude sketching and portraiture, using unconventional colors to bring her subjects to life. Her work is characterized by balanced compositions and a constant search for harmony between softness and strength.
Michèle Loussouarn is inspired by human physiognomy, which she observes and transcribes with remarkable precision. Her work on nudes and portraits is characterized by the use of varied colors and mixed techniques. She favors watercolor for small formats, and acrylic with inlays of matter for large formats. By applying successive layers of color, or by withdrawing color, she creates works of balance and contrast. The white areas of her paintings bring light and contrast, accentuating the presence of her subjects through tight framing. Through her art, Loussouarn conveys a message of freedom, happiness and ease, hoping that her works will evoke sincere emotion.
