Description artwork

This unique and original contemporary artwork "Tea Pavilion" was created by contemporary artist Castillon Camille. It is the right part of a diptych of a panoramic view of a traditional Japanese garden from inside a pavilion.

Japan, and particularly traditional Japanese printmaking, are important references in the work of this artist, who spent time there in 2016. Beyond the subject matter, the aesthetic influence is evident here.

The artist's style can be recognized by his brightly colored flats and their clear delineation; an aesthetic inherited from his training in printing techniques, notably etching and screen printing.
