For the artist, it's all or nothing. If it's not all, it's nothing.
Sylvie Colin, born in Strasbourg in 1964, comes from a family of painters and musicians. Immersed in the artistic world from an early age, she entered the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts at the age of 16, but soon chose to follow her own path. Exploring different disciplines, she developed a unique personal style, seeking to express her vision of the world through materials. Her works, charged with sincerity and emotion, are a reflection on humanity and its struggles.
Sylvie Colin's work is characterized by the use of mixed media: paint, collage and polychrome pencil. Each element of her work carries meaning: collage represents the human and the everyday, while painting illustrates the environment. She draws inspiration from artists such as Zao Wou-Ki, Bacon and Fabienne Verdier, all driven by the strength of their convictions. Sylvie explores the relationship between humans and animals, tackling profound themes of our society through a universe where animals become guides and companions. Her creations invite us to reflect, to listen to nature and to give new meaning to our relationship with the world.
