Nathalie Dumontier, painter and glass artist, was born in 1964 in the Eure-et-Loir region of France. Based in Chartres, she enriched her creativity by training as a stained glass artist in 2008. Her artistic practice focuses on non-figuration, enabling her to free her gesture and explore deep emotions. Her introspective nature is reflected in her work, where light and shadow play a central role, capturing the beauty and poetry of the world around her.
Nathalie Dumontier's work is deeply rooted in nature, the primary source of her inspiration. Her non-figurative paintings, influenced by artists such as Joan Mitchell and Turner, are an exploration of light, texture and subtle emotions. She begins each creation with a ritual of format and color selection, guided by music and intuition. On canvas, her gestures are part of a dialogue between mind and matter, leaving room for fragile, erased areas. Her work is not intended to deliver a message, but rather to create a space where each person can tell his or her own story, finding beauty and harmony in abstraction.
