INTERVIEW

What does your work at Carré d'artistes involve?
I work at Carré d'artistes as an art curator. My role involves discovering new talents and advocating for them during the selection committees. Additionally, I assist the galleries in managing and maintaining relationships with the artists.

What do you like best about your job?
I appreciate the dynamic nature of my job, where each day brings a new dimension, encompassing both artistic and interpersonal aspects. Building a foundation of trust and exchange with the network's artists and franchisees is particularly rewarding. This forms a lasting relationship with the artistic department over time.

What were your first steps in the world of contemporary art?
As a child, we regularly drove past a wall on which graffiti artists were performing, and I admired their freedom of expression and creativity. I couldn't wait to discover their new works every day..

An anecdote to share, something you'll never forget ?
I remember the emotion I felt when I took part in my first selection committee! I felt so lucky to be able to discover new talent and defend the work of artists who had touched me. Announcing your selection to an artist is a great moment of shared happiness, and the beginning of a wonderful artistic exchange.

Which style appeals to you most?
Working with so many different artistic styles has enabled me to develop a growing interest in abstraction and minimalism. Despite this, I find myself particularly drawn to the colorful world and cultural references of Pop Art, which take us back to childhood and carefreeness, as well as to the spontaneity of Street Art. Colors have a particular impact on everyone.

An artist at Carré d'artistes whose work you particularly like ?
Tough to choose, because I seem to be discovering new artists every day, whose work is constantly evolving! At the moment, I really like the work of Neibaf, who has just joined the network. His color palette is very beautiful, with high quality flat tints, in an abstract style with a hint of Street Art through his use of graffiti. I'm also an admirer of Morgan Bisoux's work, whose ultra-realism and original subjects transport us into a unique universe of pop colors.

If you had to describe Carré d'artistes in three words ?
Benevolence - Cohesion - Sharing
The perfect combination We all work together in a dynamic environment, with the common goal of helping artists succeed and galleries grow, in a relaxed yet determined atmosphere.

Why is art essential according to you?
We need art in our lives, because it allows us to escape from the daily grind, because when we see an artwork, we don't have to accomplish anything, we simply have to accept the emotions it triggers in us.
