"La nature se suffit" Friedrich Hegel
Also a talented harpist and horsewoman, Clotilde has been passionate about the arts and the environment since childhood. After graduating from the Boulle School in Paris with a degree in marquetry, she turned to the craft and made a career as a site manager in landscaping. After several years, however, she missed creating and decided to revive her vocation and to take out her pencils, brushes and paints. Now an animal painter, Clotilde once again expresses her sensitivity through her canvases and multiplies awards and exhibitions across the country.
In her works, Clotilde devotes herself with passion to the animal world. With accuracy and emotion, she depicts the soul of her models and evokes with finesse their strengths and weaknesses. Inspired by nature, fauna and flora from all over the world, she also admires Rosa Bonheur and Constantin Brâncusi for their style and their work around the living. On the canvas, the artist does not hesitate to multiply and vary brilliantly the techniques and mediums such as oil paint, acrylic or charcoal. At a time when ecological issues are becoming decisive, she draws our attention by representing the environment and biodiversity in a simple and spontaneous way. Ultimately, by reflecting the point of view of animals, Clotilde delivers a humanistic message that invites us to rethink our place in the world and our role in ensuring its future.
