Color above all, and perhaps even more than drawing, is a liberation - MATISSE
Hélène Deffin is an artist with a passion for light and glass, which she has been exploring through the art of stained glass for over thirty years. Fascinated since childhood by the play of light on stone floors, she began working with glass as a self-taught artist, before taking specialized training courses. Her works, whether lamps, mirrors or decorative panels, are marked by a constant quest for aestheticism and technicality, blending tradition and modernity.
Hélène Deffin draws her inspiration from Art Nouveau and the beauty of light. She mainly uses leaded stained glass and the Tiffany technique, while integrating painted elements under glass, an innovative approach that enables her to create unique works. She leaves plenty of room for the unexpected, inspired by the words of Matisse: "Color is liberation". For Hélène, each creation is an adventure in which she solves aesthetic and technical challenges, offering works in which light plays a central role, transforming spaces with delicacy and elegance.
