A drawing is simply a line that takes a walk. (Paul Klee)\n
Architect, artist and creator of unique designs, Claire Godet studied Applied Arts at Ensaama - Olivier de Serres. Passionate about the arts, and architecture in particular, she is particularly interested in the place of art in space, and produced her first creations along these lines. Claire explores notions of near and distant perception through different levels of reading and various media. In 2003, during her training, she presented her very first labyrinthine work. This was followed by various exhibitions in Paris and Bordeaux.
Claire Godet draws her inspiration for her "labyrinthine" works from both everyday objects and artists. Working freehand, she creates a variety of shapes and subjects from a single continuous line. Her random, curvilinear lines start at one point and end at another, or form a loop, without ever crossing. From a distance, the subject or form is clearly visible, but up close, the viewer can observe the complexity and meticulousness of the line. While the artist wants everyone to be able to make their own interpretation of the work, she has chosen this continuous, curvilinear line to represent life and its pitfalls.
