Description artwork

This unique and original contemporary artwork "Joie" was created by contemporary artist Malfreyt Corinne. Inspired by photographer Eadweard Muybridge's decomposition of movements in the late 19th century
The artist used the Oil technique to create this large-format painting on canvas in the Figurative style. On an ochre background, the artist applies a thin layer of white oil paint with a knife. Then she works the whole with knives, scratching, tracing, erasing and making the silhouettes reappear for a dynamic and dreamlike rendering at the same time.

Malfreyt Corinne France
Born with a passion for art, Corinne Malfreyt has always taken refuge in drawing, even during her school years when she scribbled on everything she could get her hands on. After a successful career in commerce, at the age of 40 she decided to follow her true calling: art. Since then, she has devoted her life to creating art, finding fulfillment in painting and sharing her passion through courses. Her work is an ongoing exploration of human emotions and body movements, which she captures with a unique sensitivity.
