EVERY CHILD IS AN ARTIST. THE PROBLEM IS HOW TO CONTINUE BEING AN ARTIST ONCE YOU GROW UP
Sergi Mestres is an artist from Barcelona whose passion for drawing and painting dates back to childhood. Self-taught, he sees art as a vital necessity, a way of keeping a visual diary of his daily life. Each work is the fruit of constant experimentation, where new techniques and materials are integrated to create unique and original pieces. For Sergi, creativity is omnipresent, and every day brings a new opportunity for artistic expression.
Sergi Mestres' work draws inspiration from a wide range of influences, from Basquiat and Picasso to Warhol and Cy Twombly. He is also influenced by street art, urban graffiti and the changing colors of nature. Music, notably by artists such as David Bowie and Amy Winehouse, and classical cinema are also among his sources of inspiration. Sergi begins his creations with an experimental base of colors, using acrylics and sprays, until the magic happens and a character emerges. His artistic approach aims to stimulate and captivate, offering a vision of the world where art becomes an invitation to explore endlessly, to see beyond appearances, and to feel a deep connection with the work.
