I don't paint what I see, I paint what I think - Pablo Picasso
Alexandra Luz, born in 1987 in South-West France, now lives in the North of France. Passionate about art since childhood, she has never followed any formal artistic training, considering herself self-taught. It was in 2019, encouraged by a painter friend, that she produced her first figurative works. Sanitary confinement then pushed her towards abstract art, transforming her dark thoughts into luminous creations. She combines her career in the French Ministry of Education with an ongoing exploration of new artistic techniques.
Alexandra Luz draws her inspiration from the diversity of human emotions and landscapes that surround her. She prefers to paint in her living room, where she can soak up the surrounding elements, such as smells and the weather. Her technique consists of superimposing layers of soft, nuanced colors, working the material with textured effects. She then adds fine details and gold leaf, inviting viewers to reflect themselves in her works. Influenced by Mark Rothko, Claude Monet and Pierre Soulages, Alexandra also admires Christian Hévin and Daniel Reyman for their palettes and meticulousness. HPI-HPE certified, her unique vision of the world is reflected in her artistic approach, where she wishes to encourage everyone to connect with pure emotions and make peace with themselves.
