Watercolour, a constantly renewed challenge for which stubbornness meets humility.
From an early age, Jean-Luc Langlois discovered an interest in art and painting. He received several drawing prizes in elementary school. He then entered the Rouen School of Fine Arts, where he took drawing and nude painting classes for 7 years. Jean-Luc Langlois is truly passionate about art and visits many museums and exhibitions such as the Guggenheim Museum, the museums of New York, London, Florence, Madrid, etc... He then studies painting in letters and painted advertising decoration, then trains for a year as a teacher in this field. Jean-Luc Langlois then taught for 30 years in a vocational high school and, at the end of his career, for 5 years in a middle school SEGPA where he took care of children in difficulty. Today, he devotes himself fully to painting, as well as to other hobbies such as tennis and hiking.
Jean-Luc Langlois has explored countless techniques and media. The artist has worked in pencil, oil painting, acrylic and watercolour. He spent a long time portraying sea themes and the Brittany coast. A trip to New York inspired him to explore cityscapes. The artist is inspired by street art and the work of countless contemporaries including Tamara de Lempicka for her original visuals and Nicolas de Staël for his understated style. Jean-Luc Langlois has honed his own signature style and paints fascinating and original canvases.
