Miller Natasha | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

Natasha uses acrylic paint mixed with charcoal that she makes herself using charcoal extracted directly from a wood fire made at home. Her favourite subjects are marine landscapes. She reproduces them in a harmonious palette of blacks and greys. The thread of her work is the movement of the sun that inspires her and leads her to represent horizons only at the moment when the sun is beginning to set. Contrary to the omnipresence of the boat - which she always uses in her work and interprets as her signature -, the human elements seem entirely absent, with the exception of several traces of their existence: houses, rafts, hanging laundry, etc. They are represented with great finesse and the figures that do stand out against the peaceful landscapes are soft even though they are represented with frank colours that catch the eye.
