Painter Labarussias has settled in La Rochelle (Charente Maritime) after a long stay in Italy. Here, she teaches the language of Dante and practises her art developed after training at the local Art-en-Ciel workshop. To accomplish her artistic quest, Labarussias sets herself just one rule: tread over the previous day's work and start again, always moving forward. Do and redo, that's her credo. The artist from La Rochelle refuses to accept any certainty. Her tireless exploration of matter is akin to a sensory adventure. Labarussias paints as she feels her environment, in an age saturated with images, haunted by the race of time and conditioned by speed. Attentive to this world in perpetual motion, she relentlessly pursues shapes, colors and lines.
