Interview with the Pantone color of the year 2024. Peach Fuzz tells you all!
- 12/12/2023Today we're honored to welcome a very special guest, the undisputed star of 2024, the Pantone color of the year, we name : Peach Fuzz! Peach Fuzz is the tint that's sure to be all the rage in the world of fashion, design and art over the next few months, and she's made an exclusive place for us in her busy schedule, between a decorating show and a haute-couture fashion show.
Pantone 2024 color of the year
Carré d’artistes: So, Peach Fuzz, on December 7 you were voted Pantone Color of the Year 2024, what an honor! How does it feel to be a color trend?
Peach Fuzz: Oh dear, that's not the easiest question to start with! Well, let me tell you that it's simply incredible to be elected Pantone Color 2024. It's like landing the lead role in a blockbuster movie, but for colors! It's an honor and a huge responsibility at the same time.
Carré d’artistes: With so many artistic possibilities, we're curious about your favorite themes. Are there any specific subjects or themes that particularly inspire you? And how does this translate into the work of our artists?
Peach Fuzz: You know, I have a particular affinity for themes that evoke nature, joie de vivre and harmony. Bucolic landscapes with sunny fields and lush orchards are one of my favorites. I also love themes linked to the sweetness of life, such as scenes of relaxation by the water, outdoor picnics and, of course, fruity delights!
On the other hand, I'm also drawn to the artistic expression of human diversity, whether through vivid portraits or captivating compositions. Artists know they can count on me to add a touch of warmth and conviviality to all these themes.
Carré d’artistes:Thank you for these valuable insights, Peach Fuzz! Before concluding, could you share a few tips for our customers who want to incorporate the Pantone shade of the year 2024 into their interior design? How can they make the most of your warm, bewitching hue and the 2024 trend?
Peach Fuzz: I'd be delighted to give some advice on decorating trends! For captivating wall decor, I recommend opting for works of art that incorporate my hue in a way that evokes positive emotions. A large abstract canvas or a series of small paintings in shades of Peach Fuzz can instantly brighten up a room or a living room.
From experience, I'd advise varying textures and techniques to give a certain relief to your interior. Decorative accessories like cushions, rugs or vases in my shade can also work well for me. In fact, it's best to scatter my tones here and there in a room to create visual harmony.
Don't be afraid to combine me with neutral colors like white, grey or beige to create an elegant contrast. The more daring can dare navy blue, emerald green or gold for an even sharper contrast. We all know each other because we're trendy colors, and we get along just fine. Even once... No, I can't tell you about that!
Never mind! One last very important thing: light. Warm, muted lights suit my complexion perfectly, without wishing to boast...
Carré d’artistes: Well, it looks like things are happening at Pantone! Thank you so much for these valuable tips, Peach Fuzz! We're delighted to count on your charm to highlight our contemporary artists and their exceptional creations. Will you say hello to Viva Magenta and all our flagship colors for us?
Peach Fuzz: Don't worry, we will! Thank you again for welcoming us, your artists and perhaps art and decorating enthusiasts to your home.

Carré d’artistes: That's fascinating. Now let's talk about different artistic expressions. What style of painting would you see yourself in?
Peach Fuzz: Oh, I'm a versatile shade so I feel right at home in all these artistic styles!
In abstraction, I can create works that evoke a whirlwind of emotions, with shapes and shades dancing together. In figurative painting, I can bring a subtle warmth to portraits and everyday scenes, adding a touch of magic to reality. In landscapes, I'm like a gentle sunset that floods the canvas with soothing tints. With pop art, I become a reflection of popular culture, vibrant and captivating. Or in realistic painting, I can be the perfect shade to bring every detail to life.

Carré d’artistes: And we congratulate you! For those of our readers who don't know what this nomination is all about, can you tell us a little more about it?
Peach Fuzz: Of course! Every year, Pantone experts scour the world in search of chromatic trends. They study fashion, design, art, popular culture and many other fields to find THE shade that embodies the current cultural mood. So, Pantone color trends 2024 are really impactful on all aspects of our lives. What's more, 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of this eagerly-awaited event, which makes it all the more exciting for me.
Now, let's talk about Pantone. It's an American company based in New Jersey that created the Pantone Matching System (PMS), a revolutionary system for identifying colors for printing by means of a specific code. For over fifty years, Pantone Inc. has been at the forefront of color, and they are the undisputed masters in the field, notably with the Pantone Color Institute.
Their PMS system is used in many sectors to guarantee tint consistency, whether in printing, fashion, interior design or branding. For example, my code is Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz. It's like a universal language of hue, ensuring that every nuance is perfectly reproduced. It's simply essential for creative people all over the world.
Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone company and Laurie Pressman, its Vice President are both really nice. They organized a great party for me!
By the way, I see that you already have a collection of my paintings. You're fast!
Carré d’artistes: We'd say we have an incredible flair for finding visionary artists. In fact, even before you were elected Pantone color 2024, we had artists passionately painting this captivating hue. It looks like our artists are one step ahead and have already sensed that you'll be the star of 2024! Your aura has inspired some magnificent creations, and we're honored to share them with the world:
PEACH FUZZ COLLECTION
Carré d'artistes: Speaking of which, what attracts contemporary artists to choose you for their work?
Peach Fuzz : I'd say my tint is like a cocktail of sweetness and boldness. I can bring a touch of warmth and energy to any creation, creating a human connection. Contemporary artists know that I'm there to warm hearts, evoke conviviality and captivate the eye.
What really makes me special is my ability to convey genuine emotions. I can evoke joy, tranquility, passion and even a touch of mystery. Contemporary artists look to me to create works that touch people's hearts, and I'm there to inspire them with every brushstroke.
