Painting is a silent poetry - Marie-Philippe Commetti
Jérôme Guillet is a self-taught visual artist, born in 1969, who has devoted himself entirely to his passion for painting since 2018. Inspired by a quest for emotion, his works, almost photographic but not hyperrealistic, capture landscapes imbued with poetry. Working mainly with brushes, he creates paintings that transport the viewer into a sensitive, vivid universe, where every detail is thought out to elicit reverie and escape.
Jérôme Guillet's inspiration is rooted in atmosphere and light, essential elements that drive his compositions. An admirer of masters such as La Tour, Rembrandt and Turner, as well as contemporary painters like Jeremy Mann, Jérôme explores a variety of themes, from seascapes to urban scenes. His technique, which combines blurred fades in the background and sharp strokes in the foreground, creates a striking play of contrasts. Each work is a window onto a poetic world, where chiaroscuro and reflections captivate the eye and invite us to escape.
