Art is disorder
Matias Machado, known as Reyes, became an artist at the age of 14 in the streets of Bordeaux. On the walls of the city, it is the wild graffiti which refines during a long time his talent and his style. More excited by painting than by high school, he fills his notebooks and copies with drawings, to the point of forcing teachers to forbid him to use them in class. Before producing paintings, it was by customizing sneakers that he realized he could make a living from his art. Matias is also interested in astronomy, quantum physics, video games, and the search for self.
Matias is as much influenced by the contemporary street art scene in New York as he is by the more classical and traditional styles and techniques. His work reflects his tastes, his emotions and above all his artistic spontaneity. Armed with spray cans, airbrushes, acrylics and markers, the artist creates in the moment, following his thoughts and inspiration, with only the main colors thought out beforehand. He aspires to restore the image of graffiti to the general public and make them discover their beauty in the raw nature of his creations. Like a shard of existence frozen in time, art in all its forms has for Matias its essence and its importance. He transmits to his public his passion and his personality beyond the codes and values of society.
