The soul is always best represented by the colors and glory of light!
Rosangela Sousa Ferreira is a Brazilian-born painter. Self-taught, she began drawing at an early age. She explored and familiarized herself with the art on her own, offering her drawings to her loved ones and friends. One of her creations was sent to the governmental commission and helped her to make a name for herself. At the age of 16, Rosangela was nominated to represent Brazil in the arts at the University of Rhode Island's WSAG conference. In 1998, she changed her life and profession, and set off to discover Canada. Twelve years later, in 2010, she set out to conquer Europe. This new change of life confirms her in this path and in her career as a painter.
The artist works with acrylic and combines techniques to create unique and original pieces. Gold and metal leaf are a regular feature to add the finishing touch to her work. Her portraits are inspired by her travels in Israel and Venice. Her pieces exude a soothing vibe and feature mainly females in a realistic, delicate and elegant style. Her main sources of inspiration include the painter Manolo Valdès. Rosângela is also inspired by Rothko and Matisse for colour and Poliakoff for substance.\n
