To know in order to be able, that was my thought - Gustave Courbet
Violaine Abbatucci, a watercolor artist born in Caen, France, developed a passion for painting influenced by her artistically rich family background. Settled in Nice since 1986, she embraced watercolor, finding in this medium a unique expressive vector for her emotions and artistic vision. Her works, centered on the luminous and colorful interaction of urban and natural landscapes, capture the ephemeral and invite emotion.
Violaine's artistic approach is distinguished by her immersive, spontaneous watercolor technique. Before painting, she prepares her leaves by immersing them in water, creating a damp base on which she works continuously until completion. This method allows her to play with pigmented water, where chance and control intermingle to reveal vibrant stories and capture fleeting moments. Inspired by the Impressionist movement and William Turner's quest for light, she seeks to convey intense emotions through scenes charged with history and life.
