"The artist is only an artist when he is double and leaves no aspect of his double nature out of account".
Pierrick BAILLOEUIL, a native of Picardy in northern France, has always had a lot of imagination. His imagination developed during the many cultural outings he enjoyed so much in his childhood. But he soon realised that the traditional school system left little room for dreams, and Pierrick already had an artist's soul. As if inspired by his vocation, he began to create decorative objects in his parents' workshop at the age of 15. His curiosity prompted him to explore several creative avenues, such as restoring vintage or found objects, carpentry and painting. Pierrick is currently studying at art school.
In his work Pierrick Bailloeuil takes inspiration from the world around him. Yet, the theme of childhood still prevails in his Pop Art / Art Toys style. His action figures are the medium for his favourite themes, such as cartoon characters or famous entertainers. Through his work evoking childhood, Pierrick seeks to touch as many people as possible. Using a pencil, he starts off by drawing the main features of his composition, such as the position of the characters, the words or symbols. He mainly uses aerosol sprays and marker pens, then protects the action figures with a varnish. The blend of colours then inspire him for the theme and composition of the action figure.
