The Mona Lisa could have been used as a support for a chocolate brand, Coca Cola or anything else.
A Parisian artist, Kalö developed an early interest in art and design. After winning the Toulouse-Lautrec Prize in 2010, the young man embarked on a course of study in applied arts, graduating in 2015. He became an art director in an advertising agency, a position he has held for several years. At the same time, he continues to devote himself to his passion for creation and develops his art. Kalö returned to his first love: pop culture. Indeed, the painter is passionate about manga, comics, street art and, more generally, popular culture.
Kalö draws inspiration from his childhood comics, icons in pop culture and advertising to put the spotlight on how society today influences people. Dran is one of his biggest street art influences. Kalö plays with different worlds and blends them with reality to create "visual accidents" in a satire of the consumer society we live in. Not only does he like to bring different influences and worlds together, Kalö also likes to blend techniques and mediums. He uses collage, graffiti and ad posters to make his canvases. \n
