To paint so that we're never alone, so that we don't die, so that we can share our emotions.
Martine Chaperon is an artist passionate about expressing the human body, a subject she has been exploring relentlessly since 1981. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Grenoble, she has developed a unique style in which emotions dictate creation. Working mainly in acrylic, her works highlight the beauty of shapes, muscles and imperfections, capturing the very essence of life. Each canvas is a profound connection between artist and viewer, an invitation to feel intensely.
Martine Chaperon's inspiration comes from the great masters such as Michelangelo, Rodin, Camille Claudel and Egon Schiele. For over four decades, she has explored the human body with constant intensity, never tiring of this inexhaustible subject. Her technique, which combines acrylic, chalk, charcoal and ink, enables her to play with lines and stains to bring out powerful, expressive bodies. Martine avoids faces, preferring to let the body do the talking. Each work is the fruit of controlled spontaneity, in which the artist lets her emotions guide her gestures, always driven by the passion to continue discovering and creating.
