Art is a powerful means of correcting human imperfections. Theodore Dreiser
A Dutch artist of Russian origin, Lana grew up with an intense passion for drawing. Her innate talent was quickly noticed and sought after. She came to live in the Netherlands, where she perfected her artistic training and worked for a while as an illustrator of children's books. Everyday, she enjoys the solitude and silence of her studio. In peace, far from the hustle and bustle of the world, these moments of tranquility transport her imagination to elusive imaginary worlds. From these unique experiences, Lana's works are born and her portraits are full of finesse, color and mysticism.
Combining naturalist drawing with dreamlike imagery, Lana reinvents the art of portraiture with talent and poetry. Navigating between the classical canons and her great creativity, she lets herself be guided by her sensitivity, from her vision to her realization. Passionate about the Belle Époque, she depicts the beauty of nature and femininity in a kaleidoscope of colors and emotions with echoes of mysticism. Also inspired by the cultural and artistic traditions of Russia and Asia, her works address various themes around human relationships throughout history and the globe. Handling oil paint with technique and sobriety, the artist masters her line and effects on canvas. In a very personal language around the symbolism of bodies, Lana offers us, in the space of a painting, the vision of an idyllic world where youth and fulfillment are eternal.
