"Become what you are..."
Originally from the Limousin region of France, Joëlle has always been very attached to the colors and light that emanate from the environment that surrounds her. This sensitivity led her to settle in Provence, in the Calanques region, where the artist found an echo, both aesthetic and emotional, in this natural environment, to fully devote herself to her artistic experiments. She opened her first studio in Aubagne in 1988, then in Marseille in 2004, before returning to her native Limousin in 2019 to set up her "atelier a la campagne".
His return to the idyllic Limousin region continues his original inspiration: nature. The power of trees, the softness of meadows, the water of tumultuous rivers.
Created in oil and worked with a palette knife, her paintings reflect her artistic quest for ever-greater attention to color and matter. An omnipresent element in her work, the artist plays with tones and impastos to produce a singular resonance and thus create a living, rich and harmonious whole. Her resolutely non-figurative canvases reflect a deep desire to get to the heart of pictorial matter.
