Born in Tarascon in 1973, Pasquale is a French artist who studied drawing and painting with Martine Vazakas before going on to study fine arts. After his first exhibition in 1998, he began painting professionally in 2004, exploring various techniques such as watercolor, oil and acrylic. Influenced by Minimalism, he moved towards abstraction before devoting himself to architectural and landscape painting. He lives and works between Provence and Camargue, drawing inspiration from local landscapes to create unique works.
Pasquale draws his inspiration from the landscapes of his region. His creative technique is based on a succession of color layers, partially revealing the previous one to create vibrations and depth. He never uses black, preferring to explore other ways of representing shadows. His influences include the lights of Edward Hopper and the atmospheres of Arnold Böcklin. Pasquale constructs peaceful landscapes and architectures with a restrained yet expressive palette, posing trees, houses and clouds as in children's drawings. He blurs the boundary between figurative and abstract, creating a world that is both basic and essential. His characterless works invite silent contemplation, where light and shadow give the subject its full depth.
