Art is the shortest path from man to man - André Malraux
Sophie Costa is a self-taught visual artist who has been involved in the art world for over 20 years. Between singular art and pop art, she explores an abundant creativity that translates into energetic and positive works, where visual impact and material effect are at the heart of her approach. Passionate about color and texture, she draws her inspiration from a variety of artistic disciplines, with the aim of conveying a message of joy and energy through her creations.
Sophie Costa's work is deeply influenced by the American pop artists of the 60s and 80s, such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Her unique technique blends collage and acrylic paint, incorporating everyday objects such as vinyl records, audio cassettes and crayons, which she hunts down and recycles to give them a second life. This upcycling process gives her works a graphic, vintage character, while conveying a message of positivity. Sophie celebrates the beauty of visual associations, whether of color, natural elements or architecture, and encourages us to see the world with an optimistic and vibrant eye.
