"La nature se suffit" Friedrich Hegel
Born in Paris in 1985, Clotilde Briand grew up in the Sahara from birth until 1997.
In this cradle of untouched nature, she discovered wildlife, a singular atmosphere and light,
Unexpected animal encounters, from waking up with fennecs to serotinal baths with dolphins.
Some time after the Gulf War, she had to leave the free nature that had seen her grow up and return to France.
She first studied harp at the Conservatoire National et Régional de Strasbourg, then at the Conservatoire de Paris.
At the same time, she attended the Boule school.

In her works, Clotilde devotes herself with passion to the animal world. With accuracy and emotion, she depicts the soul of her models and evokes with finesse their strengths and weaknesses. Inspired by nature, fauna and flora from all over the world, she also admires Rosa Bonheur and Constantin Brâncusi for their style and their work around the living. On the canvas, the artist does not hesitate to multiply and vary brilliantly the techniques and mediums such as oil paint, acrylic or charcoal. At a time when ecological issues are becoming decisive, she draws our attention by representing the environment and biodiversity in a simple and spontaneous way. Ultimately, by reflecting the point of view of animals, Clotilde delivers a humanistic message that invites us to rethink our place in the world and our role in ensuring its future.
