A painter is someone who wipes the glass between the world and us with light, with a cloth of light soaked in silence - C.Bobin
Odile Escolier is an artist with a passion for the poetry and beauty of the ordinary. Since adolescence, she has explored creation through drawing and watercolor. In the 2000s, her involvement in an artists' collective intensified her artistic practice. Odile scrutinizes the details of nature and everyday objects, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Her works, imbued with minimalism and substance, invite contemplation and serenity.
Odile Escolier is inspired by raw, natural materials, from bark and rocks to faded walls and fabrics. Her creative techniques include superimpositions, random accidents and collages of printed or recycled papers, offering a unique depth and visual richness. Influenced by artists such as Giacometti, Villeglé, Ernest Pignon Ernest, Poliakoff, Soulages and Hopper, Odile favors the space of light and silence around her subjects. Her works are distinguished by their ability to capture movement and delicacy, whether in her depictions of figures or trees. She doesn't paint with a preconceived message, but lets her creations resonate with the viewer's personal story.
