Watercolours are associated with surprises, created by mixing water with pigments, they demand spontaneity and rapidity of execution.
Born into a family of artists, Elisabeth became passionate about painting as a teenager. At the age of 18, Elisabeth bought her first watercolor box and it was a revelation for the artist. Today, this medium still allows her to blossom as an artist. On this subject she declares: "I like the transparencies that this tool gives me, to which I have always remained faithful. It allows me to retranscribe perfectly the themes that I approach: seascapes, vineyard landscapes, urban scenes from here or elsewhere ... ".
A native of Gironde, France, Elisabeth Hoffmann creates luminous watercolors that combine softness and precision, blur and movement, as well as tranquility and peace. The artist also loves watercolor for its transparency and contrasts. Through large compositions, the watercolorist also intends to challenge the small format often associated with watercolor practice. Under Elisabeth's brushes, painting frees itself from this straitjacket and becomes a veritable "poem to be seen". From her studio in Sadirac, she paints the Bordeaux region and the beautiful vineyards that surround it... Her inspirations are manifold: the vineyards, the Arcachon Basin, Bordeaux, St Emilion, Troyes, Nice, Marseille or Vienne... bring to life vivid or blended colors thanks to the delicate touch of watercolor...
