An idea, a context, a reading, a study can arouse in me the desire or the need to express my emotions and my vision of things.
Alexandre Pelletier, also known as "Le Yack", is a talented native of Tours. He first graduated in design and arts, then in communication, and was naturally attracted by graphic design. He chose to devote his professional career to it. Art director in publishing and web for over 20 years, he evolves daily in the middle of images and stories. During the Covid crisis, Alexandre feels the need to find a new space of expression and launches himself into "graffiti painting". Just 2 years later, "Le Yack" is already exhibiting at the gallery "l'Empreinte" in Orleans.
Alexandre is definitely a modern and passionate artist. His jovial and colorful universe often reinterprets mythical characters or celebrities of our society. A jack-of-all-trades, his paintings evoke contemporary pop-culture as much as the 80s and 90s, some more "classic" subjects and sometimes even historical elements. As for his themes, he also enjoys mixing his artistic techniques. Acrylic brushes, spray cans, Posca markers or oil pastels, it is the unexpected mixtures that define his atypical and effective style. When he creates, the artist is inspired by pop art and street art scenes such as Banksy, Warhol or Basquiat as well as surrealism with Magritte. It is with a subtle balance between genres, techniques and references that "Le Yack" manages to touch the general public and express emotions and memories in his works.
