Marie-Liesse BERTRE FLANDRIN comes from a long line of painters and grew up in a world where art and design reigned supreme. Her grandmother was an engraver and painter (second Prix de Rome in engraving) who passed on her passion for drawing and colour. Her ceramic artist and painter parents nurtured her love for design. She began drawing at the age of 15 and won her first prize. She then learnt and explored a range of techniques when she studied Interior Design but drawing always took pride of place. The young woman experienced the worlds of stage design and interior design before she started exhibiting her artworks. She spent 18 years creating and showcasing her work at countless exhibitions before opening her own gallery/studio. She displays her work alongside pieces by guest artists and raises her profile as a painter.
