Before devoting herself fully to her artistic career, Sabine - born in 1961 in Cologne - had other lives. After studying Romance philology and German literature, she graduated in 1989 as a translator. For three years she worked in the radio department of Deutsche Welle, the international broadcasting service of HYPERLINK ""http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allemagne"" o ""Germany"". Germany. \nThis is enough to ensure the daily life, while cultivating, as a hobby, her youthful passion for photography. It is only in 1993, during a prolonged stay in Costa Rica, that she discovered her true artistic potential. For several semesters, she attended the Faculty of Fine Arts in Costa Rica as an auditor, where she studied painting, drawing and sculpture. Back in Germany in 2007, she took drawing classes and then perfected her painting skills at a private school from which she graduated in 2011 before embarking on a solo career. \The starting point of her work remains photography. She takes urban shots, reworks the details on the computer and then puts them on canvas or paper. She invents new situations that have a mysterious or intriguing character. Depending on her mood, her work is figurative or abstract. She uses a variety of materials, acrylic, oil, ink, pen and likes to rework everything with a knife. The goal is to tell short, captivating and sometimes poetic stories of the different cities she has visited. From her six years spent in Central America, she has kept a pronounced taste for the vivid and expressive colors of Latin American artists such as the Ecuadorian Oswaldo Guayasamin (1919-1999) or the Mexican Frida Kahlo (1907-1954). Those who still inspire her today are Eric Fishl, Gerhard Richter, Xenia Hausner, Franoise Nielly, Edward B. Gordon, Andrew Salgado, Andy Denzler. In the future, she would like to devote more time to sculpture. Another of her many youthful passions...
